Before we begin
Frequently asked questions.
Clear answers about fit, scope and what it is like to work with White Bucket Designs.
01What is a room curation studio?
We shape a room around the people, rituals, art and objects already connected to it. We edit first, uncover one clear room story and add only what improves function or meaning. The work may include layout, color, furnishings, lighting, art, objects and final styling, but the goal is never to replace your life with a predetermined look.
02How is White Bucket Designs different from a conventional design service?
We begin with what matters, not a shopping list. Our Keep Before Buy principle protects useful and meaningful pieces, reduces unnecessary purchasing and gives you one coherent recommendation instead of an exhausting field of options.
03Who is the best fit for your work?
Our clients are often moving, combining households, downsizing, inheriting objects or entering another life chapter. They care about art and originality, want experienced creative leadership and are ready to make thoughtful decisions.
04Do I need to know which service I want before contacting you?
No. Begin with the complimentary Fit Call. We will discuss what is changing, what the room needs to support and how much help you want. If the project is a fit, we will recommend the clearest starting point.
05What is the difference between the services?
The Room Edit™ provides focused clarity and priorities. The Room Plan™ gives you a direction you can execute. The Curated Room™ provides complete founder-led creative direction. The Room Realized™ carries that direction through purchasing, coordination and final styling. The Collected Home™ connects two or more rooms through one larger story.
06Do you work with furniture, art and objects I already own?
Yes. That is central to the work. We assess what should stay, move, be repaired, be reframed, be stored or be released before recommending something new.
07Do you offer virtual room curation?
Yes, when the room, scope and client are suited to remote collaboration. Virtual clients provide accurate measurements, photographs and other requested information. Some services involving delivery, installation or hands-on styling may require local support or a different scope.
08Can we work together in Spanish or Portuguese?
Yes. White Bucket Designs welcomes clients in English, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. We can conduct conversations, project communication and presentations in the language that makes the process clearest and most comfortable for you.
09Do you provide architecture, engineering or construction services?
No. White Bucket Designs focuses on non-structural room curation and interior decisions. We do not provide architectural, engineering, surveying, code, permitting, construction or licensed trade services. When a project needs those services, the appropriate qualified professional must be engaged separately.
10Can you purchase and coordinate furnishings for me?
Yes, through The Room Realized™ or a written scope that specifically includes those services. Availability, lead times, shipping, delivery, installation, returns and third-party warranties vary and are confirmed in the project proposal or purchasing documents.
11How much will my project cost?
Fees are shared after we understand the room and recommend the right engagement. Design fees, furnishings, art, trade labor, shipping, delivery, installation and taxes may be separate. Your written proposal states what is included and controls if website descriptions differ.
12How long does a project take?
Timing depends on scope, decision-making, product availability, trade schedules and delivery conditions. We outline the anticipated sequence in your proposal, but third-party lead times can change and are not guaranteed.
13Will I receive several concepts and unlimited revisions?
Our method is built around one well-considered room story rather than many competing directions. The proposal explains presentations, feedback points and any included revisions so the process remains clear and decisive.
14What should I prepare for the first conversation?
Bring a few photographs, basic room dimensions if available, the reason the room needs to change, the pieces that matter most and an honest sense of the investment and level of help you are considering. Perfection is not required.
15Will my home or project be photographed and published?
Only with permission documented separately or in your client agreement. We can discuss privacy, attribution and any limits before photography or publication.
16Can you authenticate or appraise art, antiques or collectibles?
Not unless a separate qualified appraiser, conservator or other specialist is engaged. Our curation recommendations concern the role of a piece in the room and are not opinions of authenticity, condition or monetary value.
17What happens after I submit an inquiry?
Your website form prepares a message in your own email app. Nothing is sent until you choose to send it. We review the note, respond by email and, when appropriate, invite you to a complimentary Fit Call.
